Animation
I love animation. I have designed some scores to students from Bournemouth University. Please have a look on the Videos page.
I am learning animation using Poser and Lightwave. Poser is a modeling kit that lets you model people and animals, Lightwave is a background/scene piece of software that you import your poser "dudes" into Lightwave and then set the camera and lighting. Poser is easy to use, Lightwave is not...
I have tried Bryce, a landscape tool, but I just couldn't be bothered to learn it just for landscape
I live in Bournemouth and that is where the "best of the best" animators come from, if your are interested in becoming an animator click here to go to the Bournemouth uni, to study it, BUT they only have a minimum of 2 year courses. Shame.
I can't leave without mentioning 3DS Max and Maya, as this is what the 2 big boys use (Pixar and Dreamworks). Get your self a free trial here.
Have a look at poser (Link) You might recognize someone:

Have a look at Lightwave (Link):
You don't have to design animation that in a video format, lots of companies use Lightwave and 3DS for text logos and images.
Done using Lightwave.
Very basic animations using Lightwave:
So the first step (that I did) was to create a background, i used a template from Lightwave, then got some camera angles in mind, then in Poser, did my "guy" animation, then import him into Lightwave and render it. (Poser and final movies to come)
